Choose a TPRM delivery model by the work and decision responsibilities, not by headcount or a vendor-count threshold.
The useful question is not whether your company is large enough to outsource vendor risk. It is which responsibilities your team needs to retain, which work is recurring and where additional expertise or capacity would change the result.
A service can help collect evidence, evaluate vendors and track remediation. It should not silently become the business authority that accepts your organization's risk. Name the business sponsor, risk decision owner, exception authority and escalation route before assigning the operational work.
A small number of deeply integrated vendors can require substantial judgment. A larger population may contain many low-exposure relationships. Consider data access, operational dependency, evidence availability and decision complexity rather than selecting a model from a volume threshold alone.
Walk through a new vendor, an urgent request and a vendor with unresolved findings. Ask who requests missing information, who decides whether it is sufficient and who communicates the outcome. Identify the system of record and rules for secure evidence access.
Outsourcing will not resolve an absent business sponsor or unclear authority by itself. If those decisions are missing, begin with program design and ownership. VioletX can scope a TPRM assessment, an operating-model improvement or managed work; the brief should make retained client responsibilities visible.
Relevant work is scoped to your systems, responsibilities, and decision boundaries.

Operate vendor intake, assessments, approvals, exceptions, and remediation follow-up over time.
Move beyond collecting questionnaires to deciding what vendor evidence means, who accepts risk and what happens next.
